On the weekend of February 25, Griffon Volleyball traveled to Wichita, Kansas, to begin their spring season at the Newman Crossover. This was their first weekend of play, as their opponents have already played a few times prior. Central Oklahoma is now 4-2, Newman is 1-4,  Oklahoma Baptist is now 8-0  as the Griffons fall to 0-3 after the weekend.

The last time the Griffons were on the court was back in November of 2019 in the conference tournament. Volleyball is technically a fall season sport; but due to COVID-19, their season had to be cancelled and rescheduled for the spring of 2021.

The Griffons played two games on Friday and one on Saturday. The Griffons first match up was against Central Oklahoma and lost in the first three sets (25-17, 25-20, 25-12). In the first two sets, the Griffons gained the lead but could not hold on as Central Oklahoma went on 9-2 runs to win each of them.

In game two against Newman on their home court, the Griffons lost to the Jets in four sets (25-18, 25-12, 22-25, 26-24).

On Saturday February 26, they played No. 19 Oklahoma Baptist and lost in the first three sets.

The Griffons take on Washburn at the MWSU Fieldhouse in their first conference matchup on Tuesday, March 2 at 7:00 p.m.
