Black women are the most disrespected humans on the earth. For years women have been excluded, and for even longer, black women are still being excluded. Breonna Taylor was killed in her home just after midnight on March 13 by Louisville police after officers were issued a “no knock” entry warrant into her home. Breonna’s boyfriend asked who was there and no response, he then ended up firing a single shot at the officers thinking someone was breaking in, who in return fired several shots striking Taylor five times. She then died after not receiving any medical attention because they sent away the ambulance an hour before raiding their home.

Breonna was an EMT who was just getting started in life.

Her boyfriend was charged with attempted murder of a police officer even though he was not in the wrong. Only one out of the three officers were charged and they were only charged for the shots that they missed.

During the 19th and 20th centuries, Black women played an active role in the struggle for universal suffrage. Black women held political meetings and organized political societies equivalent to today's protests and organizations. Black men and white women usually led civil rights organizations and set the agenda, often excluding black women.  The National American Woman Suffrage Association prevented Black women from attending their conventions. Black women are the most disrespected people in society. We are attacked for the color of our skin, the texture of our hair and even the way we were built and our physical appearance. Black women are dehumanized on social media, in music and just simply walking down the street. Black women are seen as “aggressors” and “angry” for simply being tired of dealing with all of the hate and demanding respect and love that we deserve. Black women deal with colorist, sexist and gender inequality and deserve better.

Malcolm X said, “The most disrespected person in America is the Black woman. The most unprotected person in America is the Black woman. The most neglected person in America is the Black woman.”
