Dave Hon- Editor-in-Chief

Dave Hon began his career on The Griffon News as a News reporter and Assistant Online Editor in the Fall of 2009. Fresh out of high school, he was ready to tackle stories on his first day by covering a campus visit from Missouri Representative Sam Graves. During his second semester, Dave was promoted to Online Editor and developed the website that won first place at the Missouri College Media Association. This is Dave’s fourth semester as Editor-in-Chief. Besides journalism, Dave is a web junkie, trekkie and all around geek. If He’s not trolling the web, he’s probably on his Xbox.

Caitlin Cress- Managing Editor

Caitlin Cress is a senior English Literature and Public Relations major. In addition to being the Managing Editor for the Griffon News, she also is a writing tutor at the Center for Academic Support.

Brooke Carter- Graphics Editor

Brooke Carter first started working for the Griffon News as the Photo and Graphics Editor in the fall of 2011. On her fourth semester, she now focuses solely on the Graphics desk. Brooke is a Graphic Design major set to graduate this spring.

Nat Larsen- Assistant Graphics Editor

Nat Larsen is a graphics major, who started working at Griffon News in the Spring of 2012. He likes long walks on the beach and fights bears.

Andy Inman- Design Editor

Andy Inman is a senior Convergent Media major. He is the Design Editor of the Griffon News after doing freelance design for the paper last semester. He enjoys smooth Jazz, Pina Coladas and solving complex mathematical equations.

Eboni Lacey- News Editor

This is Eboni’s sixth semester with The Griffon News. She first began on the Lifestyles Desk in the Spring of 2009. From there she began the Assistant Lifestyles Editor, The Lifestyles Editor, Opinions Editor, and this semester resides as the Campus Life Editor and the Online Editor. Among newspaper, Eboni is a double major in Convergent Media and Graphic Design. She is a former Missouri Western volleyball player and also is a licensed Turbo Kick Instructor.

Thomas Huitt-Johnson- Sports Editor

Thomas Huitt-Johnson is a junior and an English Literature and Journalism major. He is the Sports Editor for the Griffon News, and also is an employee at the News-Press as a Sports Reporter. His favorite sports are Football, Basketball and Boxing. When he is not watching, playing or covering sports, he can be seen dominating at foosball or air hockey. This is his second semester at the Griffon News.

Kyle Inman- Assistant Sports Editor

Kyle Inman began his writing career with The Griffon News as a News Reporter in the fall of 2010.  The spring semester he moved to the sports desk and covered Griffon Basketball and Softball.  Kyle is covering sports again for The Griffon News this fall, serving as Assistant Sports Editor.  Besides writing, Kyle loves seafood, stand up comedy and the New York Knicks.

Blair Stalder-Features Editor

Blair Stalder is a Convergent Media major from Texas who has been on the Griffon News for a year- the first semester as a reporter, the other as a co-copy editor.  This semester she is a first-time Features Editor.  Blair is a senior on Western’s softball team as well as a member of Undeveloped.  When she is not writing unique stories, she is watching The Office/Tosh.0/Modern Family, joking around with teammates, playing some sort of sport like ping pong and rocking out to classic rock.

Ellis Cross- Opinions Editor

Ellis Cross has been working with the Griffon News for five semesters. His background is in hard news and investigative reporting. Ellis is now the Opinion Editor. If you don’t have an opinion see if you can use his. 

Jason Brown- Photo Editor

Jason Brown started freelancing for the Griffon News as the sports photographer in the fall of 2010.  Working more, he volunteered editing photos for the spring semester. This fall is his first full time job with the Griffon News as Photo Editor.  Jason has a desire for any photography, but loves the challenge of sports and capturing the moment.  For the future he plans on starting a business in photography and video, and would jump at the opportunity to take photos at the next level in sports.
