We’ve had many bands and artists perform at Missouri Western but this is a band you won’t want to miss.
”Nelly’s Echo” is a pop rock band made up of a lead vocalist and guitarist, Nelson Emokpae, and features drummer, Thomas Morris, bassist, Jordan Parks and keyboardist, Kameron Ralls.. They have played on stage with many well known artists such as Boyz II Men, Travis McCoy, Trombone Shorty and Sean Kingston.
Emokpae also was a contestant on “The Voice” in 2012. His audition song, “Ain’t No Sunshine” by artist Bill Withers, caught the attention of contestant judge, Christina Aguilera.
As a pop rock band “Nelly’s Echo” compares themselves to artists like John Meyer and Jason Mraz.
They have self-released four albums and if you would like to sample their songs before attending, you can listen to them on YouTube. Their most popular hit is “Ain’t No Sunshine” and their most recently uploaded song is called, “One Day” ft. Black Root and Kendra J.
If you’re looking for a laugh, Emokpae created a song called, “Put it on my Plate” which is about the Popeyes versus Chick-Fil-A spicy chicken debate.
“Nelly’s Echo” has performed at over 500 colleges and will be adding Missouri Western to their roster tonight at 7 p.m. in Spratt 101. This is a free event and all are welcome to attend and enjoy some music.
