It’s that time of the year again. Western will be holding their annual comedy show sponsored by Western Activities Council and the Student Government Association. Hailey Boyle will be on campus on March 1 at 7 p. m. in Spratt 101. The show will be open to the public and all are welcome.
Natalie Smith, President of WAC, explained why her organization chose to invite Boyle on campus.
“Every year we go to a national conference. This year it was held in Boston It was [held by] the National Association of Activites. We saw her perform at that conference, we thought she would be well suited for the campus because she’s very funny,” Miller said.
Miller is excited about the upcoming comedian show and is hopeful that other students will enjoy Boyle’s performance as much as she did.
“I’m really looking forward to it. I had a lot of fun listening to her at the conference. I hope the students enjoy her as much as I did,” Miller said. “We hope to get a lot of people out of their dorms to this spring comedy show.”
Freshman Taylor Ramsey anticipates that the comedian show will be fun.
“I think it’s fun to go to. Somebody once told me that she [Hailey Boyle] involves the audience,” Ramsey said.
Assistant Dean for Student Involvement, Isaiah Collier, acknowledges the uniqueness Boyle can bring to the table.
“Hailey Boyle is energetic when it comes to comedy,” Collier said.
According to Collier, Boyle mentioned to WAC that she will be talking to students after the comedy show. Collier believes the comedy show will be a great success.
“Overall, I believe the comedy show will do great because she is energetic, we met her at a NAOA and we believe she did a great job there, ” Collier said.
Collier suggests that all students and close by residents should attend the comedy show.
“Students should want to come to the comedy show because it’s free and it will be fun,” Collier said.
