Men’s golf team finished sixth in St. Joseph tournament

The men’s golf team enjoyed the past two days playing here in St. Joseph. The Griffons welcomed 19 other schools to the St. Joseph Country Club on Monday and Tuesday. Missouri Western finished sixth in the tournament with a score of 895 in the Holiday Inn/Candlewood Suites Classic. Conference rival Central Missouri won the tournament with a score of 872.

Freshman Patrick McCarthy shot three-over par for a 216 and a fourth place finish. It is the best finish for a freshman so far this season. Junior Jakob Rudosky finished 14th with a score of 221. Eli Armstrong of Central Oklahoma and Joby Gray of Southwestern Oklahoma State finished tied for first in the tournament with a score of 212.

The Griffons will play in their final tournament of the fall next Monday and Tuesday in the Lindenwood Invitational in St. Charles, Missouri.
