Valentines Day Movie Weekend

Featured Lifestyles Features Lifestyles

When it come to be Valentine’s Day, going out in public is near impossible in St. Joseph due to all of the reservations and dates happening at restaurants.

Afterwards, all of those dates usually end up going to the movie theatre for something to do and watch something you can talk about with your significant other.

The biggest showing happening on the weekend of Valentine’s Day is ‘Fifty Shades of Grey.’

This movie is based on the book trilogy written by British author E.L. James, and despite having lots of negative reviews by critics, has a very large fan base.

When first released on shelves, stores were sold out week by week due to the popularity.

What makes this movie showing even more interesting is that the novels are erotic, making a movie screening questionable.

In Macaé, Brazil, a judge ruled that the series either be removed from the city libraries or the books are to be wrapped and placed out of minors reach.

The movie is to be released on Thursday, Feb. 12, and will be showing all throughout the Valentine’s Day weekend. Regal Hollywood 10 showings are on Friday, Feb. 13 at 4 p.m., 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. If these times don’t work for you and your date, they also have showings on Valentine’s Day at 12:30 p.m., 4 p.m., 7 p.m. and 10:15 pm.

If this romantic novel-based movie is not for you and your looking for something more action-packed, ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ is also showing on Valentine’s Day.

This movie is a action/comedy genre that tells a story about a young kid that gets recruited to a super secret spy organization just as a global threat emerges from an evil tech genius.

This movie is showing at Regal Hollywood 10 at 3:50 p.m., 7:10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13. The Valentine’s Day showings are at 12:45 p.m., 3:50 p.m., 7:10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

If neither of these movies interests you, then you’re out of luck. These are the only two movies showing all of Valentine’s Day at both Regal Hollywood and AMC theatre. Supposedly, the theaters are expecting such a big crowd from ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ that they are not re-showing any of the other movies that have been released.

If you plan to go out during the Valentine’s Day weekend, expect restaurants to be packed, traffic to be horrible and movies to be sold out.
