Former Griffon running back Michael Hill, was arrested in the early morning hours of Thurs., Jan. 9.
Hill, who is now a running back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was arrested at Tuck’s Bar, 210 N. Belt Highway. According to Capt. Jeff Wilson, Hill was arrested on two city investigative charges of disorderly conduct after a fight and a disturbance were reported at the bar.
Just before 1:20 a.m., Hill was arrested for failure to obey lawful order and resisting arrest.
Wilson reported that two officers received a “minor bump and bruise” during the scuffle.
A graduate of both Central High School and Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Hill signed with the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent in August 2013. He was then signed to the Green Bay Packers in Sept. He joined the Buccaneers in Nov.
Nelson Luis, director of communications for the Buccaneers, said, “We have been informed of the situation involving Michael Hill and are in the process of gathering additional information.”
In his senior season at Missouri Western, Hill had 311 rushes for 2,226 yards and 16 touchdowns. His best rush was for 92 yards.
So far in the NFL, he has nine rushes for 23 yards, averaging 2.9 yards per carry. He also has two receptions for 23 yards, and one kickoff return for 19 yards.
Hill was released Thursday morning after he posted the $500 bond. He was the only arrested individual in the incident.
