During the winter months of each year, Krug Park is a popular sight for people to visit in St. Joseph.

Many citizens of the community drive through the park at night to see the vast array of Christmas sparkles that light up the night sky.

Every year Krug Park has a Christmas light setup that attracts many viewers. Krug Park has the traditional decorations such as different cultures’ interpretations of Santa Claus. However, every year they add some other decorations to make the park lights new and exciting.

St. Joseph citizen Ashley Bally enjoys seeing the lights every year as well as the mood that it brings to the area.

“I really love the community spirit this time of year,” Bally said. “It’s always reflected in the crowd that turns up to see the lights.”
This is not only a tradition for Bally. It is also something she enjoys sharing with others.

“I visit the holiday park and Hyde Park every year,” Bally said. “Not much ever changes, but it’s always a tradition of the season for myself and my family.”

The Krug Park lights are also a popular attraction for couples during the holiday season.

Brent Stevens and Jenna Hudson enjoy seeing the lights every year together.

Hudson is always excited to see the new lights that have been added every year.

“It seems they add something new every year,” Hudson said. “My favorite addition for this year were the lighted arches in the middle of the park.”
Stevens simply enjoys having a yearly tradition to enjoy during the holidays.

“Driving through Krug Park to see the Christmas lights is a good tradition,” Stevens said. “I really liked the chasing lights in the tunnel.”

Like this couple, many people have their favorite lights and decorations in the park every year.

Bally also has a favorite setup that she probably shares with many other folks who visit the park.

“My favorite has and probably always will be the enchanted forest setup,” Bally said. “I love the little fox and owl.”

Bally also thinks the lights would look nice in other places.

“Wish I could do that with my yard,” Bally said.

The Christmas lights at Krug Park are always a big hit among citizens of St. Joseph during the holidays.

With December just beginning, the park will surely be filled with more viewers over the next month.
