Even though I have never been a smoker I can definitely understand what it's like to have an addiction- but not at the expense of other peoples health!! All those out there committed against smoking- Keep up the good work!

While I agree that everyone has a right to do what they wish with their own bodies, I wish that MWSU was a smoke free campus. It is highly unnerving to be forced to choke down someone elses cigarette smoke while walking between classes. Not to mention having that person heavily cloaked in tobacco smoke sit within a 5 foot perameter. Others to have physical issues that are effected by your smoking, myself included. When accosted by someone elses cigarette smoking my breathing siezes, a very uncomfortable feeling I must say. All I, or anyone else can do is look around and think, Wow that stinks.

I am a smoker and respect your thoughts and other non smokers but they also need to realize and respect mine. I am 45 and soon to be 46. The fact of the matter is everything will kill you now days from the air you breathe(not from cigarettes entirely) but down to the water we drink and the food we eat. I quit for almost a month and went back. Never say never. You just might be eating your words? If I ever decide to quit smoking, than I will not chastise anyone who smokes. Ex-Smokers are the worst. The fact of the matter is it is our right to smoke. This is the United States of America. If I smoke, than that it is my business. They have tried everything to ban smoking, but they will never be able to stop it. They tried this in the 1920's called prohibition. It did not work. You are bound to die of something someday. My mom's best friend died of lung cancer and never smoked a day in her life. I have to smoke for calming my anxiety. Cigarettes are actually and anti depressant for me. They calm me. I have PSTD and Panic attacks. The fact of the matter even though you quit does not support that you will never get lung cancer or COPD, you are still not immune. Please do not pass judgement on Smokers until you know the facts. At least I am not abusing alcohol or drugs. I think all of us smokers know the dangers and risks associated with smoking.

Don't be ridiculous. You gave up 28 days ago and you act like you've never smoked in your life. At this stage it's too early to say that you're done. Who are you kidding here? I know who - YOURSELF. Look at you. Gee, you're 41? You're obese and you look like 55 at least. Sooner than from smoking, you'll die of a heart attack or stroke. Start exercising and stop eating junk. Don't blame cigarettes for everything. Anti smoking Nazi!
