Comedians ANT and Iliza Shlessinger pushed comedy boundaries last Saturday night at WAC’s homecoming comedy show.
ANT has been on several national shows including Last Comic Standing, VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club and the Tyra Banks Show.
Senior Missouri Western student Nick Ford liked the show.
ANT talked about being gay, pop culture and an experience that he had on a recent trip to Las Vegas. He also interacted with the crowd and poked fun at some of the audience members.
“It was hilarious; it was unexpected,” Ford said.
Iliza Shlessinger came on stage after ANT. Shlessinger won Last Comic Standing in 2008.
Shlessinger’s routine spanned from dating difficulties to pop culture topics like the “Rock of Love” television show.
Sophomore Artie Heinrich liked Shlessinger and her style of comedy.
“She was fast paced, funny and entertaining,” Heinrich said.
WAC President Keisha Caldwell thought the show went over well.
“I thought the show was awesome,” Caldwell said. “The comedians were engaging, and the crowd was responsive.”
According to Caldwell, WAC chose ANT and Shlessinger after seeing them at a main stage presentation at a National Association of Campus Activities in Nashville earlier this year.
