Curry takes voluntary leave from team

April 23, 2008 6 Comments Missouri Western women’s basketball player Ashleigh Curry has taken a voluntary leave from the team to focus on her studies.
Curry was deemed academically ineligible for this past season and has been working her way towards becoming a full member of the Griffons basketball team again. At this point in time, Missouri Western and Curry feel it is in her best interest to focus on her studies and work her way towards a degree.
It is not entirely ruled out that Curry will not play for the Griffons next season. If Curry can keep her grades up and stay out of trouble the possibility is still open that she can return to the team. Head coach Lynn Plett hopes that is the case.
“I am still hopeful if she can do what she needs to do academically that she can return and be able to participate on the team next year,†Plett said.
That is not even a concern as of right now. The only thing that Coach Plett and Missouri Western are worried about is Curry achieving a degree from Missouri Western, basketball isn’t a thought right now.
Curry has also gotten into trouble with the law. Curry was given a citation for using illegal identification and missed a court date, which resulted in an arrest. Her off the court issues have been a disÂtraction for the Griffons and herself.
Curry was a vital member of the 2006-2007 women’s basketball team that went 30-4 and made the sweet 16. She was the leading scorer on the team and arguably the most talented member of the team. With Curry on the court, the Griffons are a different team.
The focus for Curry at this point is on her academics and obtaining her degree from Missouri Western. Hopefully everything will fall in place for the sake of Curry and her fans.

Skip Hop Studio Diaper Tote Handbag is awesome. So many wallets – as well as not really those little, worthless pockets, either. Almost all of the pockets are a good size and truly aid maintain everything organized. The handles are a great length and fit nicely more than the shoulder; the handle shoulder straps also stay place on my own shoulder, which is actually critical as soon as you’re carrying a newborn. The bag appears good, as well. Not as well fancy, but not too casual. (I’ve it in black) The material is soft (can’t feel of a better word) so it is easy to squeeze in to tight spaces – but yet it is sturdy. I have a Fleurville Lexi carrier and I really like it, too, but that handbag is type of stiff. I believe that Skip*Hop may grow to be my everyday handbag. It’s a little bit big – so if you’re not in to substantial totes this may be much better as an over-night baby diaper tote.
Ashleigh Curry is the best!
