CAB comedian jokes in food court

“I can not believe this, man! I went from Comic View, Show Time at the Apollo to the damn cafeteria.”

WalkerMissouri Western’s CAB presented Mr. Lavar Walker on Feb. 9 at 8:00 p.m. in the Food Court located in the Blum Union.

Walker baffled the crowd with his jokes about the small crowd that showed up to see him.

“So…. with my next joke I want all of you to come huddle up on stage. I’m going to whisper it to you; it’s enough people in here to do that,” Walker joked.

He kept replying to his self as being famous, but only a few students recognized him. He also joked about not having a real stage and a DJ.

“I would have been okay if I had a damn DJ and a stage. I feel like a damn stripper in a cafeteria. I was bragging; I was telling people about this. I was like ‘Man, I’m going down to Missouri Western; they booked me to go do Missouri.’ Now I’m in the damn lunchroom. I don’t know if I want to do comedy or go in there and bake some damn cookies,” Walker
laughed.

The comedy series that CAB sponsored was a great turn out for the members of CAB.

CAB President Janell Banks said that the turn out was unexpected and that they had the show in the Food Court to help out Aramark.

“We had about 60 to 70 people attend, which was a huge turn out that we did not expect,” Banks said. “We thought it was going to be small because it was a Friday. And normally, when we do the comedy club, it’s usually small. So, that was a huge, huge turn out.”

Overall, the show was a great success and even though Walker was not used to doing shows in that type of setting, he enjoyed making students laugh and yawn.

“The comedian was kind of shocked that he was in the Food Court,” Banks said. “He has never performed in this type of setting, but we explained to him about our comedy club and how we do it. But overall, he liked it, and he got to take pictures with students. So, it was a fun event and a very successful event. A lot of people were there, and we had a good time.”
